Boy Scouts of America

Earn Rank Advancement and Merit Badge Requirements.   Opportunities abound for Boys Scouts to meet several of the requirements for advancement and merit badges.  We have an axe yard, compass course, nature trail, spars for lashing and pioneering projects (bring your own rope). 

  • The following advancement requirements can be completed, so, "BE PREPARED”.
    • Tenderfoot:  1, 2, 3a, 3b, 5, and 10.
    • Second Class:  1a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, and 3.
    • First Class:  1, 2, 4, 6, 7a, 7b, 8a.

  • Merit Badges:  Several Livery Staff members are Merit Badge Counselors for many of the badges noted below.  Scouts who wish to work on a Merit Badge must personally contact the Livery and make arrangements.  Opportunities exist for Boy Scouts to pass requirements for these Merit Badges:  

Bird Study Fishing Pioneering
Camping Forestry Reptile & Amphibian Study
Canoeing Insect Study Wilderness Survival
Cooking Mammal Study  
Fish & Wildlife Mgmt. Orienteering

  • If your Scout Troop would be interested in rustic camping at the Livery, call 1-800-ME-CANOE for details.

  • Our staff includes 4 scout leaders, 3 of which are current or former Scoutmasters and we have two certified lifeguard instructors. 

*  Please note; advancement requirements are constantly changing and it's difficult for us to stay on top of the changes; however our staff members have many years of scouting and military experience between us, so we can accommodate most outdoor, survival, pioneering, camping or any related requirements you may need to fulfill.
